Policy Summary/Purpose:
In compliance with the Providing Urgent Maternal Protections for Nursin
g Mothers
Act (PUMP Act), which was signed into law on December 29, 2022 (P.L. 117-328),
the
University of Mississippi provides reasonable break time and an appropriate
location for an employee to express breast milk.
The University of Mississippi provides reasonable break time for an employee to
express breast milk for a nursing child. The University also provides an
appropriate location to express breast milk, other than a bathroom, that is
shielded from view and free from intrusion from coworkers and the public.
